FMNP Special Topics Lead Instructors - Reserve this fantastic UF FMNP toolkit for your next Wildlife Monitoring class for free!

The large, durable Wildlife Monitoring Toolkit is filled with hands-on gear for teaching your FMNP students about surveying and monitoring methods with emphasis on mammals and herptiles. 

Take advantage of this wonderful Toolkit full of hands-on equipment, including a densiometer and other field activity gear. 

Who Can Reserve a Toolkit? Only current FMNP Lead Instructors who are listed on the UF FMNP website for that course may request a toolkit reservation. It is your responsibility to verify your information is current prior to placing your order. (FMNP Instructor verification link

To Place Toolkit Reservation: Click "Add to Cart" and go through the steps as if you are purchasing an item. The webstore will accept your reservation without any payment required. Reservations are first-come, first-accepted. 

Required Info Upon Checkout: 

Lead Instructors, during webstore checkout these items listed below must be typed in the "Notes" box, otherwise your request is not complete and will not be processed. 

Suggestion - Copy and paste 1-4 in the Notes section then fill in your correct information. 

1) County in which you are teaching the course (Ex. Pinellas County)

2) First and last dates of course (Ex. First - 1/5/22; Last - 1/10/22) 

3) Name to whom the toolkit is being shipped

Address to where the toolkit is being shipped

County in which this person is an instructor

(Ex. Brian Lane, 1111 First Road, Tarpon Springs, 55555; Pinellas County instructor)

When finalizing your toolkit request at checkout, the "billing address" should be the Lead Instructor's address who is filling out the request; this address might or might not be the same as the instructor being shipped the toolkit. The toolkit can be sent to the Lead, or an Associate, or an Assistant Instructor. The toolkit will only be shipped to a current FMNP Instructor whose name will be confirmed via the online FMNP instructor list.

Reservation Deadlines: Reservations must be made at least 2-weeks in advance of your first day of class and can be made up to 6 months prior to your first day of class. Toolkit is due back to the FMNP Webstore office within 7 days after your class ends, so that it can be shipped to the next instructor.

Confirmation: You will receive an automated email response that we received your request. An additional email either affirming or denying your reservation (e.g. maybe there is a previous reservation for the toolkit by another instructor who has reserved it already) will be sent to you soon after we receive your reservation request.

Shipping Costs: Instructors do not pay shipping charges - these are coordinated through the FMNP Webstore and paid by the UF FMNP office. 

Toolkit Gear Condition: All gear and the complete toolkit are the responsibilities of the Lead Instructor. The gear is to be returned in the same condition as it was received - do not use harsh disinfectant chemical on sensitive items such as any optics, prisms, etc., which will damage them. (See below disinfection info.) Please notify us immediately if something breaks or is lost - other instructors are depending upon these items after you. 

COVID-19 Precautions for Using Toolkit Items:

  • Disinfect items - Prior to their use, in-between users, before shipping back to FMNP Webstore
  • Caution when Disinfecting Optics/Sensitive Surfaces – Use the alcohol wipes: Please be sure that no one (instructor, student) uses damaging disinfectant chemicals on anything with electronics, lenses, or sensitive surfaces, such as the range finder, forestry prisms, etc. For these sensitive surfaces, use the alcohol wipes provided.  
  • Disinfecting Other Field Gear Surfaces: Use a SARS-Related Coronavirus 2 approved disinfectant. For example, Oxiclean 3 in 1 Deep Clean Multi-purpose Disinfectant. (Link)

Returning Items: Toolkit items are to be disinfected and dried prior to their return to the FMNP Webstore. Please, do not put items in the toolkit box until they are completely dry.

Return Due Date: Toolkit is due back to the FMNP Webstore office within 7 days after your class ends.
